Over the last two decades I have had the privilege of working with CEOs, entrepreneurs, senior leaders and teams in some of the most successful companies in the world, enabling them to perform at their best in often challenging circumstances.

My fascination with performance began in childhood, through ballet classes and violin lessons, that shaped my core beliefs about what drives improvement: being lit up by something you care about and the discipline to commit to practice coupled with someone to both support and challenge you to be better.

Starting my professional career as a teacher in two challenging inner-city comprehensives, I became increasingly intrigued. Some teachers had an almost magical influence over their students. Even children who were disaffected and disruptive for most of the day would suddenly choose a different mood and become committed pupils in certain lessons. What were those great classroom leaders doing to influence the children so they wanted to learn? And how might that relate to business leaders and those they lead? The answers compelled me to found Coaching Impact in 2008.

Every interaction with the leaders and teams I work with fuels my fascination for what it takes to be better at something. I'm inspired by those I work with, whose stories and resulting impact keep stretching me and my belief that, when we choose, we have infinite power and energy. My personal ambition is to continue learning, practising and improving in the spirit of impact for good.

My book, The Shed Method, was commissioned by PenguinRandomHouse and I host the podcast, Better Under Pressure.
